Expectation Leads to Disappointment

Reading the title, you thought I am going to pen something pensive !!
Hurray, I laud myself for having caught you unaware.

It is just that the way I got disgusted after seeing "Anniyan" movie. I really wondered how people lauded the movie? I do accept that the movie had some lavish expenditures and the songs esp Andankakka and Kannum Kannum were upto Shankar's mark but the other departments had lots of scope to improve upon. Anyway, it is a long while since I saw the movie and I dont want to go rampant criticising it.

On the same genre, a few days back, I saw "EnglishKarran" starring SathyaRaj. I was least interested to watch it as the very name of it, made me believe that it is a damp squib. But surprisingly, I was able to sit thru' the movie atleast in the first half. Exception to it, are the dialogues uttered by the heroine's father which really wanted me to file a suit against the dialogue writer and the songs. There is one song which gets oft-repeated just like S.A.Rajkumar's score. This is a xerox version of Dhanush - Sridevi starring "Azhage Brahmanidam varam kidaikka poyirunden" song. The comedy flick of Sathyaraj is not rib tickling but definitely brings a smile. I did not see the post intermission part, as my eyelids were too heavy to be kept open but somehow managed to catch the climax. Is tamil movie so complicated that missing a few scenes will make you lose track? Well, at the end of the movie, I really felt it was a passable one !!
